UFC 147 Recap:

Ok night as we went 1-1 on Top Plays, but both Top Plays were +130.  So if you played them both you ended up cashing some!  This card had a lot of Brazilian TUF fighters that we didn't know much about and didn't have much video on so we didn't want to force the action.  Here is the brief write up below that our paying members received.

Rich Franklin (-155) vs. Wanderlei Silva (+135)
The first fight was pretty exciting with many good exchanges.  This is a 5rd fight and Wanderlei usually likes to start fast but the fact it is 5rds should slow his pace the first couple rounds, Franklin has a solid chin and will look to counter strike Silva.  This one should go to the 4rd or  maybe even as late as the 5th Rd. Take the Over 2.5 Rds +130

Top Play: 1 Star Over 2.5 Rds Franklin vs. Silva (+130)

Fabricio Werdum(-525) vs. Mike Russow (+415)
Werdum has improved standup and slick BJJ.  Russow is a solid wrestler and grappler.  Werdum could possibly get the submission in this one but Russow’s grappling should be good enough to keep that from happening. This fight should be closer than the line and will probably go to decision.  Take the over 2.5 Rds +130

Top Play:  1 Star Over 2.5 Rds Werdum vs. Russow (+130)

UFC 147 Top Plays and FAPs:

Top Plays:
1 Star Over 2.5 Rds Franklin vs. Silva (+130)
1 Star Over 2.5 Rds Werdum vs. Russow (+130)

Forced Action Plays (For Action Junkies):
Rich Franklin (-150)
Mike Russow (+415)

UFC FX 4 Recap: 4-1 on Top Plays and Parlay

Great night as we went 3-1 on Top Plays and 1-0 on Top Parlays.  We were short on the write ups due to time restraints.  In this package we didn't include any FAPs (Forced Action Plays), but we did include predictions.  Sign up for a package to the right.  More Top Plays coming later for UFC 147.  Just buy a package by clicking the paypal button to the right and we will email plays before fight time.  If you have any questions please feel free to email us at octagonlocks@gmail.com .

Matt Brown (-145) vs. Luis Ramos (+120)
Matt Brown is one of the hottest fighters right now.  We’ll continue the wave by stealing him at this price.

Top Play:  3* Matt Brown (-145)

Nick Catone (-215) vs. Chris Camozzi (+195)
Look for Catone to take Decision by controlling this fight with his wrestling.

Top Play:  2* Nick Catone (-215)

Gray Maynard (-260) vs. Clay Guida (+210)
Two strong wrestlers with good chins.  This one is going to decision.

Top Play:  4* Over 4.5 Maynard vs. Guida (-140)

Hatsu Hioki (-170) vs. Ricardo Lamas (+160)
Lamas has strong BJJ and should keep from getting subbed by Hioki. Hioki doesn’t have power in his hands and is a pretty solid defensive fighter. This will probably be a pretty slow paced and look for this fight to go to decision.

Top Play:  2* Over 2.5 Hioki vs. Lamas (-160)

UFC FX Top Plays and Parlays

Top Plays:
3* Matt Brown (-145)
2* Nick Catone (-215)

Top Parlay: Ebersole (-230) Maynard (-260) Dan Miller (-340)

 Predictions:

UFC FX Recap

UFC FX: Uncle Creepy vs Johnson Top Plays and Parlays:
Not the best night as we went 2-2 on Top Plays but we did hit both Forced Action Plays.  Here is the write ups members received.

Demetrious Johnson (-130) vs. Ian McCall (+120)
If you got a chance to watch the first fight, many would say McCall got robbed.  Ian McCall is a very well rounded fighter, strong stand up with magical wrestling skills and destructive ground and pound.  Johnson is extremely quick and has exceptional striking and was able to beat McCall to the punch in most exchanges in their first fight.  McCall was able to take Johnson down in many occasions in their first fight.  Look for McCall to secure takedowns and get some solid ground and pound taking the judges nod by decision or possible late stoppage.  Take Ian McCall +120.

Top Play:  2 Star Ian McCall (+120)

Mike Pyle (-190) vs. Josh Neer (+165)
Time Restrictions short write up.  Pyle has stronger stand up and they are pretty close in the grappling department. Pyle has the better wrestling also and has fought more superior competition. Take Mike Pyle (-190)

Top Play:  2 Star Mike Pyle (-190)

Leonard Garcia (-135) vs. Matt Grice (+115)
Time Restrictions short write up.  Line movement has been crazy on this fight. 5dimes.com has the over 1.5 Rds. at -160, we almost think this is a mistake.  Be cautious to take this at 2.5 Rds. This fight should go to the third round possibly a decision.  Take the over 1.5 Rds. -160.

Top Play:  3 Star Over 1.5 Garcia vs. Grice (-160)

UFC FX Top Plays and Parlays:

Top Plays:
2 Star Ian McCall (+120)
2 Star Mike Pyle (-190)
3 Star Over 1.5 Garcia vs. Grice (-160)
1 Star Jared Papazian (-145)

Forced Action Plays:
Erick Silva (-175)
Eddie Wineland (+160)

TUF Finale Recap: 2-1 Top Plays and 1-0 Top Parlays

Good night as we went 2-1 on Top Plays 1-0 on Top Parlays and our Martin Kampmann FAP hit!  Not the most exciting card but you guys still cashed!  We did get unlucky on John Albert as he did not tap out and the ref stopped the fight.  Maybe he would have got out soon after or tapped but I guess we will never know due to bad reffing.  Here are the write ups our paying members received below.

John Albert (-190) vs. Erik Perez (+325)
Albert is an explosive and powerful striker.  Look for Albert to finish Perez with strikes in the late first or early 2nd Rd.  Take Albert (-190)

Top Play:  3 Star John Albert (-190)

Charles Oliveira (-190) vs. Jonathan Brookins (+165)
This line started -300 and the public bet it down -190 Oliveria.  Oliveria has the stronger standup is quicker on his feet and even has a strong BJJ game than Brookins.  Oliveria can win this fight in all 3 possible ways decision, TKO/KO or even a submission.  Look for Oliveria to outwork Brookins on the feet on his way to a UD or possible late stoppage by submission. Take Oliveira (-190).

Top Play:  4 Star Charles Oliveira (-190)

Max Holloway (-115) vs. Pat Schilling (+105)
Sorry no write up due to time restraints.

Top Play:  1 Star Max Holloway (-115)

TUF Finale Top Plays and Parlays:

Top Plays:
4 Star Charles Oliveira (-190)
3 Star John Albert (-190)
1 Star Max Holloway (-115)

Top Parlay:
1 Star Lawrence (-345); Jury (-320); Sicilia (-200)

Forced Action Plays (For Action Junkies):
+180 Martin Kampmann (If he weathers the early storm he could use his superior technicality and cardio win in late rounds)
